Mercedes Benz repair: 1973 Mbz 450SL vibration, mercedes benz 450sl, vibration problem

Question
I have a 73 450SL that has a vibration problem at around 2000 rpm and only when under a load. i.e. acceleration. I looked at my driveshaft and one of the fingers out of the 3 that hold it to the rubber dampner show signs of wear. My question is, can this cause the vibration,and what caused this wearing and is there an easier fix than replacing the drive shaft.  Thanks in advance

Danger: Stop driving the car...
Replace both front and rear Flex Disc.
