Mercedes Benz repair: Front End, link suspension, 300sd

When replaceing and installing the Guide Rod,do you need a special tool or a press machine to remove and reinstall the guide from the mount Pod?

Answer
Yes.
A five ton press, fixturing and/or cups to make it stable + apply pressure.
If the inside of your bearing bracket is seriously corroded, the assembly must be replaced.
