Question--
I want to think you for your time. I really cannot afford that kind of money and could not DIY. I live in Sterling Hts MI, so the cost would most likely be on the high end. Do you know of any addititives I may be able to add that would help? Can I continue to drive the car like it is? Again, thanks for your advice and time. Tony

My car, 1985 Mercedes Bedz 190E, starts fine, after about 1 mile it starts to hesitate and will not accelerate. After about 1 more mile, with dark smoke from exhaust, it kicks in and runs fine. I've tried premuim fuel and injector cleaner. It has a new fuel pump and fuel filter, and has been tuned up. Any idea what this problem is? EGR value? Fuel injector? Thanks for your help Tony

#1. Depends upon geographic location.
#2. Will you DIY the head Remove/reinstall.
#3. Will you have the local MB dealer do the service.
Wild guess:
DIY = $400.00 USD, if everything else is perfect and you are a very good mechanic.
DIY oops can = a new engine.
A shop doing all the work = $1200.00 through $4000.00 depending upon who you take it to and what they find.
