I recently purchased a 1984 300D.  I am getting ready to recharge the A/C and am wondering if the compressor is easily accessed.  I haven't looked yet to see where the compressor is located.  On other cars I have recharged before, it was up front on the top.  But, I've never done a Mercedes Benz before.  So, I'm not sure where the connections are.

Compressor is bottom front; driver side.
The system is R-12, use only R-12 or plan to loose 25% capacity, restoration from R-134A will cost roughly $1300 - $2000 USD.

Charge fittings; follow the lines, very easy to find on driver side inner fender well.
