Mercedes Benz repair: Replaceing 92 500SEL engine needs service light in dash cluster, mercedes benz, newer cars

1992 500 SEL I need to know how to get to the "check engine" light so I can buy a replacement and do the work myself. I am skilled and can make tools. Is there a lever or catch hidden that I can release the speedo cluster. LOVE the car and I do all work but can not locate a repair book to buy.Is a repair book available or a users group? THANKS KR
