Mercedes Benz repair: Cruise Control, mercedes benz 560sl, control amplifier

Question
I just bought a 1988 Mercedes 560 SL.The Cruise Control is intermittent.It works when the car is first started in the morning from cold,but only for a few minutes and than shuts itself off.It will not re-start untill it is allowed to really cool down.The engine runs normal and strong,does not overheat.
I replaced the actuator,thinking it was the problem but it still fails. Help !

Sounds like bad solder joints in the cruise amp, and/or switch bad.
