MG Car Repair: MGTD transmission

Question
I am rebuilding my MGTD transmission and have obtained 3 used inner 1st-2nd gear sliding hubs to choose from. All 3 have some wear on the teeth of the hub, but to various length as in this picture. Can I use the one with least wear on it? (highlight link below and right-click "open URL" for picture)

Hi Ken

None of these gears is ideal.  I do not like the look of the chipped tooth on the bottom left gear.  The top one and bottom-right both look better.  Anyway, you are looking at first gear, and being straight cut, that is always noisy.  I would use the one with the best second gear.
