MG Car Repair: Speedo cable - MGBGT with Overdrive

Hello Barrie. How long should a 1970 MGB GT right handed speedo cable be?
Some said 50 ". Pls advise.

Hi Lim.

The MGB used at least five different speedometer cables during its production run.  The shortest was 3ft 3inches and the longest was 5 feet long (152 cm).  All MGBGTs from 1965 to 1976 with overdrive need the longest one, part number GSD117.
