MG Car Repair: MG TD, inch shaft, pinion shaft

Question
I have recently imported an MG TD from the US and am trying to convert the
steering to right hand drive. I had hoped to be able to buy a right hand drive
rack and pinion gear, but this is not possible. Do you know someone who would
be able to modify a Y type right hand drive rack and pinion unit for me.

The Y-type rack is identical, except the length of a Y-type pinion shaft is about 10 inches, whereas the TD needs a longer 13 inch shaft.  

This is a safety-critical item, so it must be done properly.  I would get an expert such as Peter Edney to do this for me.  His website is www.peteredney.co.uk
