MG Car Repair: 1966 Midget Fuel Pump, electric fuel pumps, electronic fuel pump

I have replaced the mechanical fuel pump on my '66 Midget with a solid state electronic fuel pump.  The problem is that the pump runs very hot and stops working after a few months of intermittent use (this is the third one in 12 months).  The car has been converted to negative earth, if that matters.

Hi David, You need to get a different brand pump or a better warranty. I converted hundreds of MGs to negative ground at the dealerships I worked in and we never had that much trouble with fuel pumps. Also all 66 Midgets came with electric fuel pumps.
