MG Car Repair: 65 MGB REAR WHEEL CYLINDER REPLACEMENT, channel lock pliers, wheel cylinders
QuestionANY SPECIAL TOOL NEEDED/AVAILABLE OR JUST A THIRD HAND.HAVE ARTHRITIS IN FINGERS.
AnswerHi Bob,
Yes, if you are refering to the spring clips holding the cyclinders on to the backing plates and all the springs holding the shoes in place. They are tough even for a young man. Standard tools for brake springs for domestic cars work well on the MGB. As for the clips holding the wheel cylinders on it takes a large flat blad screw driver, a hammer and an (oversized channel lock pliers putting them back on)A lot of special words sometimes helps too.
