Questioni just bought a m1010 ambulance that came from border patrol in california, only had 9500 miles. it had been cannabalized some, no batteries, missing upper alternator, being in the military truck spare parts business we came up with those parts no problem. under the dash is a 2 piece plug in , that is unplugged , however you can see what looks like a printed circuit board inside. this vehicle wont crank from the seat, but with the barest whiff of ether and it busts off and runs wonderful. after it warms up it cranks every time.could i plug this back in and solve my problem, will the glow plugs work with this unplugged? i didnt see any toggle switch, like maybe they had wired around it.please advise, i want to coninue making this my red neck motor home.
AnswerThe glow plug controller is above the brake pedal. It is a plastic housing about four inches wide, about six inches long, and about an inch thick. There is a plastic cap on the end, and a circuit board inside.
It is probably hanging there by the wires, or zip tied near the fuse block.
The relay it controls is under the hood, on the firewall.
The two piece plug you are talking about I don't know. Try it.
