What is the recommended way to get at the clutch for replacement. (Drop the transmission/transfer case, or pull the whole engine and drive train?)

I don't know, but I think I would just pull the tranny and transfer case.
I'd sure think that would be easier, but I haven't done one of those.

At the public library, refference section, you might find a repair manual.
