Mitsubishi Repair: A/C not working, belt pulley, valve dohc
QuestionAnthony i drive a Eclipse '97 Gs 2.0 L 16-valve DOHC Automatic when i turn on the car engine then turn on the A/AC the ac makes a very loud noise then stops turning and it cuts off the car's engine... any ideas of what's wrong?
AnswerSebastian,
This sounds like a worn out compressor and/or a bad bearing on the A/C belt pulley. The belt and pulley are relatively inexpensive to replace. Though having the compressor replaced can cost hundreds of dollars. So have a couple mechanics give you estimates on replacing the compressor if that turns out the be the cause.
Good luck!
