Mitsubishi Repair: 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS shifting issue, clutch slave cylinder, mitsubishi eclipse gs

I have a 2003 Eclipse (manual transmission with about 114k miles) and I just noticed that it is having problems shifting from 1st gear to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd.  Everytime I shift it has a jiggle motion and it revs high then back down.  But it has a real hard time shifting and it will not drive smooth it always seems like its pushing itself.  What may the problem be?

There could be a number of causes for this.  You may have worn shift linkage cables, broken shifter plate bushings, worn shift fork, weak clutch slave cylinder; just to name a few.  I'd recommend a bringing the car to a transmission shop to have those areas looked at, as well a general inspection of the transmission.
