Mitsubishi Repair: Having problem 2000 Mits Eclipse Stick Shift, mitsubishi eclipse, shifter knob

I own a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse and its a Manual Transmission. My car's stick shift was working perfectly fine but I came home and parked my car and tried to go back my car's gear didn't work. It seems like if its broken. Whatever gear I put my car it end up being in middle. For example: if I put 1st or 5th gear the car's gear gets into 3rd and if I put the back gear and 2nd gear and the car's gear ends up into 4th gear.
I hope you understood the issue. I don't know how else to explain it.

THis may be a with the gear selector and/or shifter cable.  Those cables connect the shifter knob to the transmission.  If either of those lines have become misaligned, it can cause this problem.  I'd recommend having a mechanic inspect the cables for damage.
