changed clutch had to pull out gear box broke speedo cable replaced for new but still does not read drove with dash out to see if cable was rotating it was not moving so any ideas

The small gears inside the transmission may have been damaged or got stuck when the speedo cable broke.  Pull the new speedo cable out, check the new cable end for proper seating in the tranny and see if you detect any damage on the tranny where the cable seats.
