MY TIMING BELT BROKE ON MY 1995 MITSUB. GALANT 2.4 ENGINE.DID MY ENGINE GET DAMAGED

Your engine is an interference engine, so that increases the risk for internal damage if the timing belt breaks.  But your engine is also a single overhead cam engine, which slightly reduces the risk of damage.  To be sure, have a mechanic do a compression test on the engine.  If compression results are low, that would indicate engine damage.  That would require an engine rebuild.
