Mitsubishi Repair: 1998 Montero Sport, coolant level, montero sport

The car is overheating and my husband thinks it is the thermostat.  Could you explain to me where it is located?

Susie:Find the upper hose of the radiator, follow it over to the engine cover and there is where the thermostat is at. But there is other things to check along with the thermostat such as the drivebelt tension, the coolant level but not saying your husband is wrong just a few other things to check too.
