3.0 v6 has power to coil but will not spark at plugs
could it be the ecm ? and where is it located?

Tim:Maybe you have one but I always tell people to get a repair book on their cars. In mine there is a ignition wiring diagram which explains a lot of things. But before I would start thinking about the ECM which is behind your radio. I would check the distributor. The coil powers up the distributor and rotor and sends the stark to the plugs. How about your stark  plugs wires are they all in good shape, sometimes  if one is starking due to a break in the wire at another point and therefore the stark is not getting to your plugs.
