Mitsubishi Repair: water leaking when air is on, drip pan, water droplets

i have a 98 mitsub. mirage se and every time i turn the air conditioner on water leaks in to a puddle please help i was told it has something to do with the cooling system

This is perfectly normal.  There is part of the A/C system behind your dash called an evaporator.  As cold refrigerant passes through it, it cools down the air around it.  And just like a glass of ice water on a hot day, the outside of the glass forms water droplets due to condensation.  Underneath the evaptorator is a drip pan and a drain tube.  The tube leads outside your car and as the A/C is running, more and more water will drip out and form puddles under your car.  Again, this is normal and you have nothing to worry about.
