Mitsubishi Repair: Mitsubishi L200 stalling problem, throttle position sensor, mitsubishi l200
QuestionI hope you can help.
I run a 2003 L200 Triton 3.0 v6 pick up truck in the UK. I have a problem when i start the truck it runs fine and ticks over great. As I drive away the engine stalls and it will not restart for 15 - 20 mins.
I have had all alarms etc removed and a new ignition switch installed.
But i cannot resolve this problem.
Please please please see if you can help.
The truck is originally from New Zealand if it makes any differance
thanks
AnswerElliot,
You may have a faulty throttle position sensor (TPS). This can cause your engine to stall once you start driving. After it stalls, it may take the car's computer 15-20 minutes to reset properly in order to be able to start the car again. You may also be losing spark and/or ignition timing during that time it takes to be able to start again. It would be best to have a mechanic inspect the TPS and replace it if necessary.
Good luck!
