Mitsubishi Repair: Wuzzup, mitsubishi eclipse, wuzzup
Question1991 Mitsubishi eclipse 1.8l automatic. If I was driving on the interstate and my timing went out would it bend a valve?
AnswerDominic,
If your timing belt snapped at highway speeds, it would most likely bend at least one valve. The damage may not be as severe as if you had the 2.0L engine, but if the timing belt was lost completely it can cause bent valves, dinged pistons, or other damaged head components.
Good luck!
