I am trying to adjust the rear brakes on a 01 mitsubishi galant.  Any help would be great!

Your question is a bit vague.  I'm not sure what you want to adjust.  But if you want a complete guide on checking, fixing, or replacing brakes, you can purchase a service manual for your car.  Both Haynes and Chiltons sell repair guides for your car.  Check your local auto parts store for these manuals.
