Hi i have a question I have a 96 yamaha virago 1100 and I will like to know what can be the cause of backfiring in idle or moving motion?

Answer
Backfiring or Popping?
Backrapping upon deceleration could be dirty Air Cut Off jets or bad Cut off Diaphragms.
Backfiring is more a valve adjustment or timinng issue.
I Rebuild Virago carbs for a living.
