Motorcycle Repair: Brake light stays lite, flhs, brake switch

QUESTION: Hey Mike, i noticed my brake light stays on all the time and only slightly gets brighter when I step on brake. I checked the fluids and found the rear brake was empty. I filled and bled the rear brake. I seen no change in lite so I took bike for a short jaunt around town and again bled the rear brake, with no good result. I replaced the brake lite switch for the rear and still both element are lit. I am again lost and looking to you, the expert, for a lil help PLEASE.

ANSWER: If you disconnect the hot wire to the rear brake switch does the light still stay on?

QUESTION: Yes with hot unplugged at switch light still is on.

Answer
Since you say it still stays on, then its the front switch not the rear switch. Check to make sure both sections of the right controls on the handlebars are together. If the two sections are not pushed together then the switch will not work correctly.  If they are together and you still hav a problem then the switch is bad
