Read down and see that the part was used from 1988-96, but the later ones used a sidestand kill switch, which has an extra wire that can be grounded, according to the messages in the above link.

AnswerI understand. Information given still applies to any of the pre-97 VT1100s. You will either find an early one that will bolt right in and hook up electrically or a later one that will need the extra wire grounded. Other than that, the functions are the same.
