Motorcycle Repair: 74 superglide fx, test light, solenoid

yesterday i was riding and everything was good,bike was running great.but suddenly my lights went out and the bike died.it was like i turned it off[which i didnt].all the connections seem fine and i jumped the solenoid and it turned over but wouldnt start.could this mean the ignition switch is bad?77v2r

What you need to do is take a test light and with the ignition switch on, check to see if you have power at the switch. Then check your on off switch and then see if you have power going to the coil. Also, check your breakers
