Motorcycle Repair: turn signal wiring, turn signals, universal light

this is  basic wiring question not related to any certain bike. I bought a bike that had no turn signals at all so I bought a universal wiring kit and some LED signals hooked it all up according to the diagram. the signals turn on but do not blink. the flasher had 2 wires one with a stripe and one full color. the diagram did not say witch wires to connest to what so I tried it both ways 1 to the switch 1 to the battery and visa versa any suggestions on how to get them to blink?

The blinker relays usually rely on a load to make them blink.  Did the relay come with the kit?  Are all the turn signals connected?  Is there a repeater light that should be part of the load?  led's don't use anywhere near the power that incandescents use, so if you used a universal light set, and used led's, the load is not enough for the blinker relay.
