Motorcycle Repair: 82 honda goldwing, junkyard, good luck

I have a problem with the starter on my wing. The lug on the starter came loose. It actually comes out. I noticed o rings but it does not make contact all the time when it is reinstalled to start the bike. Do I need a new starter or is this something that is available to replace?

The starter needs to be overhauled, sounds like the connection has been stripped or has just come loose.  If you're handy you can probably re-attach it yourself, but the starter will have to come apart.  Might be easier to just pick up another from a junkyard.  Good luck,  Jan
