Motorcycle Repair: Evo Flywheels and rods, harley flh, pinion shaft

I have a 1977 Harley FLH that I am rebuilding, a freind told me to put Evolution flywheels and rods in the engine for increased performance and reliability. Your thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Doing that would change the stroke. the 77 flywheels have 3.96875 stroke and the EVO has 4.250. So you would have to shim the cylinders to make up the difference. the pinion shaft is going to be different as well as the mainshaft
