Motorcycle Repair: Suzuki C90T Blvd, suzuki c90t, solenoid

Our Suzuki has a problem starting after riding for a while.  We thought that it could be the starter, but that checks out.  Someone "off the street" told us that it was probably the Solenoid decomp - I know this is not your speciality, but was wondering if this was possible or if there was something else we needed to check first
