Motorcycle Repair: Rich Fuel Adjustment, air fuel mixture, fuel air mixture

QUESTION: My '98 FLSTC has been running rich since the 95K service.  It will start without the enrichener at times.  How do I adjust the fuel/air mixture?

QUESTION: Mike,
It smells like its running rich at idle as well as while riding (all the time basically) and the fact that I can start it cold without engaging the enrichener suggests that there may be a problem with that particular mechanism.

On your bike you have a air/fuel mixture screw which is plugged. If you are running rich all the time, the the air/fuel misture screw is not the problem. It only works when the bike is at idle. Off idle you are running off the intermediate jet. Pull your plugs and let me know what color they are
