Motorcycle Repair: 65 Honda Dream Restoration, whitewall tires, tank badges
Question
1965 Honda Dream
Hi Bill. I inherited a 1965 Honda Dream CA 77 that originally belonged to my father. It has sat neglected in various garages collecting dust and rust for 25+ years. I'd like to get started on the restoration and would like to get a feel for what to expect financially and how to go about finding qualifying specialists in the San Diego area. Any thoughts?
AnswerJim, well that looks like a great candidate for restoration. Must have low miles on it, as the original whitewall tires are still on it and the plastic tank badges are still in place.
A "restoration" can run anywhere from about $1500 to $5000 depending on just how new you want it to look.
I have restoration CDs for Dreams which I sell directly via my website.
I live in San Diego... Spring Valley, but don't have a lot of room right now to take on a full restoration. I am waiting for parts to complete a 1959 CE71 Honda Dream Sport, now.
