Motorcycle Repair: 5-speed in 4-speed frame, clutch basket, speed frame

Question
will a 5-speed from a 87 softail be made to fit the 4-speed frame of a 79 fxs?

Answer
It will fit the frame, but the inner primary wont line up and the clutch basket wont work either, so you would have to do alot of modification. there are some companies out there that make 5 speed guts for a 4 speed housing, which would be less work
