Hopefully, the starter chain is not broken. Fairly rare occurance, though, but it depends on the mileage on the motor. All you have is the starter motor, solenoid, starter clutch and chain in the system, though.

I think it is an engine pull and split the cases job, if you have eliminated all the other possibilities.
