Motorcycle Repair: 83 honda shadow 750, honda shadow 750, flasher relay

Question

Hi, I am new at the bike world but I want to do as much hands on as I can.  Okay so I can put the bike on the charger all night and she will run like a champ but as soon as you turn her off the battery dies.  We have checked all fuse the battery is new and we put on a new flasher relay.  Can you plans help. Thank you- KP

I only know CBX Honda's, but I would get a cheap voltmeter and check the voltage on the battery as the bike is running.  When the bike is revved above about 2000rpm the voltage should rise to about 13-14V if it doesn't then your charging system is not working.
