Motorcycle Repair: 1980 110 honda atc, honda atc, feeler gage

how do i set the timing on this 3 wheeler?   it has points but the cover says cdi.  how do i set the gap on thge points? one more thangdoes points need a module ign cont? it shows it on a wiring diagram    please help before i scrap it

Raymond, the points have to be set with a feeler gage to set the point dwell. They are set to .014 inches. You then have to check the timing with a timing light by rotating the backing plate.  The points ground the coils so I'm pretty sure it's not a CDI ignition. I don't recall Honda using CDIs until the ignition became electronic.
