Motorcycle Repair: 1986 Hinda 250x timing, timing chain, crank

I have a 250x that I cannot get the timing marks to align right, I have moved the timing chain on the cam a tooth and still the marks do not align with the head. If the "T" is on the mark the cam marks are off. I have also slipped the chain on the crank one tooth, to no avail.

Bill, I've seen this before.  Sometimes the timing marks don't exactly line up.  There should be a point where it closer than if you move it one tooth advanced or retarded. You just select the timing that gets the timing as close as you can.
