Motorcycle Repair: 1990 Honda CBR 1000, honda cbr 1000, fuse blows

Hello, please excuse my ignorance, but until now I have only been an operator, not a mechanic.  My CBR blows a fuse for lights and speedometer in the dashboard every time I replace the fuse.  How do I go about checking for the apparent short?  Thank you for your help I really appreciate it.

Tom, my experience is with older Hondas...pre-82 models.  But in general, you just disconnect one circuit at a time from the wiring harness until you isolate the offending component. I'd disconnect them all and then plug them in one at a time until the fuse blows and then you'll know.
