Motorcycle Repair: starter, sportster, bolts

Question
need to know just how to remove a starter off of a 71 sportster 900 ....thanks...like do i have to remove the primary cover to get to the bolt,s

Answer
Remove the battery and the wire going to the starter. Remove the two bolts holding the starter in and the starter will slide out. Be careful when sliding it out that you dont pull it apart. the two bolts holding it in also hold it together
