my 250 fourtrax has spark but wont start ,does it need a battery to run ,when i pull it the lights come on but no fire could it be a fuse   good blue spark

if it has a good spark, then you are
not getting fuel I suspect.

Have you checked if fuel is filling
the carb? Check the gas line and fuel
petcock for good fuel flow.

Try spraying some wd40 or carb cleaner
in the back of the carb, see if it fires
on that. Try a new spark plug.

You also need at least 100 psi compression to run.

More remotely it could be faulty
reed valves or bad crankcase seal(s).
