Motorcycle Repair: shift rod, shift rod, happy new year

Hello Mike. I have a 1994 super glide. I was riding and when i went to shift from first to second and there is no catching of gear.It will go into first and spring back, but it will not go into any other gear and the rod will not spring back when trying to shift up a gear

First, check your shift lever on the side of the trans to make sure its not lose or damaged. If it is ok, then you will need to remove the top cover and check the shifter spring to make sure its not broken or a shifter cam is not broken.
