QuestionI have a 84 Gl1200 Goldwing and the fuel gage dosent work. Check fuse ok. What would the next area to check to correct Problem with gage.
AnswerJames,
-Some Goldwings had a 7 volt regulator
that failed and caused the fuel and temperature
gauges to act up.
-the regulator has a black/brown wire from the fuse
and a green/black wire going up to the gauges.

-If only the fuel gauge is reading wrong I suspect
the fuel tank sending unit.
-It should be on the left side of the fuel tank
and should read about 4-10 ohms when full
and about 90-100 ohms when empty.
The wires are yellow/white and green/black.
-you will have to drain the fuel if you
are going to remove it.
-check the connectors and wires for bad connections.
