Motorcycle Repair: honda 250 (1996), bikebandit com, houseofmotorcycles

Bill, I can't get the seat up or off on my Honda 250 road bike. What's the trick to it?  I see catches under the seat but I just can't see any attachments to undo so I can slide the seat and release the catches.

Mike, I will assume that you are working on either a Rebel or a Nighthawk.... for the US market. Otherwise, it could be a lot of different machines, worldwide.

Looking at the seat illustration, the helmet holder is also the latch to release the seat via the cable connection.

If you have a Rebel:

then you have to remove the rear seat section, in order to remove the front seat.
