Motorcycle Repair: float adjustment, yamaha 550, float bowl

Question
do you know the float adjustment for 1981 yamaha 550 with makuni carbs. Ive replaced needle and seats, but I cant find the specs for the float....thanks

the float level is checked by the height
of the fuel in the float bowl using
a tube attached to the bowl and then
opening the drain screw.
The height of the fuel is about 3-5mm below
the carb body where the bowl attaches.
That would be about where the washer
is on the rear carb bowl screw.
