QuestionMy friend recently changed my rear tube for me but now when he put it back together the rear wheel wont spin. The brakes arent hooked up.Any idea what I can do?
AnswerMark,
is the tire touching anywhere? If not
it might be assembled wrong, the wheel
has a spline that has to align with
the rear drive on assembly.
-Also if you have disk brakes, there may be
a spacer between the brake caliper and
the swingarm.
-Before you tighten the axle nut, make sure
the wheel is turning okay and then slowly
tighten it as you turn the wheel.
-You may have to remove the wheel and
make sure the spline in the center is
not damaged, otherwise you will have
trouble getting it in the bike.
-Use moly type grease on the splines.
Tighten the axle to 60 ft/lbs only after you make sure
nothing is binding on reassembly.
