QuestionI have recently purchased a 1981 Goldwing. Everything seems to work fine except after running for a while. When I come to a stop the temp goes up and I do not hear the fan come on. Is there anyway to check the fan to see if it is working correctly, or do I need to start with changing the sensor out?
The fuse cover is missing, so I don't know if there is a fuse for the fan in the fuse box, or a seperate relay some where. All fuses look to be ok.
Help!!
Thanks
Bill
AnswerBill,
-you can check the fan directly by applying
power to it. Blue wire is positive.
-Also if you have a test light
or multimeter, check for power on it's
connector.(key on)
-Try grounding the black thermo sensor
wire coming from the fan and see if the fan starts.
-If the power is getting to the fan and the fan works
you will likely need to replace the sensor.
