Motorcycle Repair: clutch replacement, gsxr 750, clutch replacement

My friend and I are trying to replace a cluch on his 1993 GSXR 750. but the cover seems to be stuck? Are we missing a step here or what?

Terry,

-Most likely the cover is stuck on the dowel pins.

-Double check for any screws that may be holding or
anything else in the way.

-You may be able to find a place on the cover
that looks solid enough to tap gently on with
a piece of wood and a hammer. If it breaks loose
you have to try to pull it out evenly
so it doesn't bind on the dowel pins.

-just keep tapping around the case and try not
to pry if possible, it will damage the gasket sealing
surfaces.
