Motorcycle Repair: 87 Honda Shadow 700 Oil Capacity, honda shadow, oil capacity

Can you please tell me what the oil capacity is for my 87 honda shadow 700?  Maybe I'm the dipstick, but I changed the oil and I can't find it.  I'll buy a clymer book next month, but I aleady spent all of the money I can afford on honda brand oil, and a $13 filter! (BTW, is there a fram equivilent?)

It takes between 2.3 to 3.0 us quarts depending
on how dry it is. I suggest warming it up
a bit, draining it and replacing the filter.
Replace the drain plug and add two quarts
of oil. Run it briefly to circulate the oil,
let it sit a moment, then check the oil level
and add oil as necessary to bring it up
to the full mark.
Have the bike level when checking the oil.
